Why high definition video?

High definition (HD) video is ideally suited to recording concerts, not only due to the higher resolution – twenty times that of standard video!, but also because of the widescreen aspect ratio (16:9 vs 4:3).

Having seen the results, I (and my clients) wouldn’t even consider going back to traditional standard video. There’s just no comparison.

Note that ALL of the header images on this website (the wide photos at the top of each page underneath ‘Chris Thompson Concert Videos’) are cropped frames of actual high definition concert videos I’ve produced. How cool is that!
